Finding the right candidates is the first task – a task that executive search partners can take on for your company. Keeping that talent is the second and more crucial task. Ensuring employee satisfaction is met from onboard and on is important in keeping leading talent on board. Retention is a key metric that companies across the nation are focusing on and here are three tips that you can use to increase that metric:

Embrace Employee Feedback

Gathering feedback for some companies seems like a scary task because some of the companies are afraid of what they will learn. However, employees appreciate having their voice heard and feel as though they have more of a steak in the company when their opinions are shared. If your company wants to continue to improve, the first step is to understand what they need to work on, instead of just assuming what’s working and not. The best place to understand to gather the good and back, is from the people living it every day, your employees.

Engagement

Getting employees together and bonding instills pride and improves retention rates. You can incorporate happy hours after work, monthly catered lunches to celebrate office birthdays, fun newsletters, highlight employee shout outs, attending sporting events, and fun unique company traditions can all contribute to bringing employees together, improving work/life balance and keeping employees engaged.

Implement Performance Reviews

One of the best ways to allows employees to know where they stand with the company is providing consistent performance reviews. This allows for transparency between employees and management into work performance and expectations. It also allows employees to feel connected and takes away any uncertainty that they may have about how they’re performing or what they need to do. This reviews also allow management to share growth opportunities for employees to continue to see a future with the organization.

Incorporating employee feedback, employee engagement activities and performance reviews are just a few small activities that you can use to improve retention numbers. When employees feel connected, bonded, heard, valued and see a future with an organization, they are less likely to pursue outside opportunities actively or proactively.
